Oak Staves

For use in tanks or neutral barrels

Engineered for long-term maturation, providing the most barrel-like extraction profile among oak alternatives. Their extended surface area and thickness promote slow, controlled release of tannins, lactones, vanillin, and complex toast-derived aromatics.

    • Recommended contact time is 8-10 months. Taste and adjust as needed.
    • Available in French (Quercus Robur) and American Oak (Quercus Alba).
    • Available in Untoasted, Light, Medium, Medium+, and Heavy toast levels.
    • Available in a 10 piece set.

Dosage: 3 - 2.5" W staves/25 gal; 6 - 2" W staves/ 25 gal

Usage: Suspend staves in tanks, totes, or neutral barrels. Staves can be installed using the "curtain-fan" method or the "checker board-lincoln log method." Ensure adequate liquid contact on all surfaces.

Useful Life: Store in a cool dry, odor free environment below 77°F (25°C). Designed for a 1 time use during fermentation, aging, or finishing.

Toasting Method: Convection oven

Seasoning: Air-dried for 24-36 months.


